Surestart Children's Centres are a Government funded programmes that aim to improve the quality of life for our children from pre-birth to five years old and their families/carers.
Surestart Children's Centres aim to:
> Improve children's social and emotional development.
> Improve health.
> Improve children's ability to play and learn.
> Strengthen families and communities.
> Help children to stay safe.
Our Children's Centre has developed on the site of Appletree Nursery School and we provide a one stop shop of 5 star services for families and young children. We work in partnership with our families and other agencies to strengthen the range and quality of services available to you and your children.Each partner within the Children's Centre has a valued and distinctive contribution to make in order for us to jointly achieve the five outcomes for children set out in the 'Every Child Matters' document:

Everyone within the Centre is dedicated to working as a community to ensure the best possible outcomes. Creative use of space and attention to detail across both the school and centre helps us to provide a flexible and high quality service.
Appletree Children's Centre has quickly developed to become a fabulous place for the development of babies and toddlers, as well as their parents and carers.
We provide a great opportunity for parents to get out of the house and engage with other families in regular groups and classes such as Baby Yoga, Sing and Sign and Active Dads.There is just so much going on at Appletree! Please see out timetable for information about our regualr groups and other exciting sessions on offer----there is always something new on offer at our Centre.
Finally our work takes place throughout the community, our reach covers the Castle, Dukes and Scotforth West wards in Lancaster where we provide local events and groups as well as outreach. We also work closely with organisations such as Lancaster Library, More Music, and .
